Project
Book Tracking/List Sharing Application
Background
Liiist is a community where book-lovers can create and share reading lists, organize their library, and discover their next read. This product is a personal project I've been working on with a few colleagues.
My Role
Product Design, UX, Product Strategy (The UI/Visual side of the project was done by my friend and colleague Chris Frees)

User Journey
Project Kickoff
I am a big fan of reading and I love sharing what I'm reading or other book recommendations with my friends and colleagues. However, I found it frustrating and cumbersome to share those lists. I found myself typing up the same list of recs to send over and over. And when I did send them, there was no easy way for whoever was getting the list to see what the book looked like or where they could buy it/download an audio version/etc.
I found a few options online, but most felt overwhelming or too complex. After discussing this problem with friends, the expressed a similar pain. So we decided we would just work on a solution on our own. Hence Liiist was born.

Information Architecture
Building the wireframes
The core idea of the product was to make it dead simple to create and then share a list of books. I spent a good amount of time refining the user-flow to make the experience delightful.
Another piece that we thought was integral, was that the book lists needed to be attractive and shareable. We came up with something that functioned somewhat like a showcase to let the beautiful cover art take the spotlight.

Putting it all together
After user testing, we were able to utilize feedback to make adjustments to the design and functionality of Liiist. Those changes were incorporated into the new UI.
